Scoop & Sift
One/One & a Half bamboo scoop (about 1/2g) of ceremonial matcha, sifted into your chawan to break up any clumps before water touches it.
Whisk in an M
Add 60ml of water at 60-65°C. Whisk briskly in a swift "M" motion with a chasen until a fine, bright foam forms on top.
Sip, or Pour Over Milk
Enjoy it straight for the traditional umami finish, or pour over your milk of choice for a smooth, café-style matcha latte.
Three regions. One standard: first harvest, or nothing.
Every batch is traced to a single tea garden across Shizuoka, Uji, or Kagoshima — shade-grown for 30+ days, hand-picked in the spring's first flush, and stone-ground slowly to protect colour, aroma, and the amino acids that give matcha its calm.
ki’en was born from my love for matcha and my belief that it could be so much more than a traditional ritual. I wanted to create a matcha that felt modern, exciting and genuinely good ,without compromising on quality or it’s versatility to pair with different flavours. Every detail, from the first harvest matcha we source to the way we serve it, has been thoughtfully chosen.
